On the afternoon of October 22, 2024, at the invitation of Professor Zhou Hongping from the School of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Researcher Xu Jin from Sichuan Electronics Co., Ltd. delivered an academic lecture titled "Perspectives on Digital Technology" in Classroom 102, Building 11, Cuicui Campus. The lecture was attended by faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduates from the School of Computer Science and Information Engineering.
Researcher Xu began by exploring the fundamental concepts of digital technology, presenting an insightful and vivid explanation of how humans perceive the world and process information. He then discussed the role of digital technology in the signal processing systems of two types of radar: mechanical scanning radar and phased-array radar. Following this, he elaborated on the modularization of digital technology, emphasizing its characteristics of standardization, assemblability, ease of replacement, and versatility, which make it highly reliable and efficient for large-scale production.
In the latter part of the lecture, Xu focused on software-defined radar, highlighting its standardized, modular, and digital features. He explained how it aligns with the open design philosophy of being "event-driven and software-centric," making it a promising trend for future radar system designs. Drawing from his own professional experiences, Xu encouraged attendees to utilize biomimicry in nature to solve practical problems and adopt modular design principles to create more versatile and efficient products.
