Experts from the Department of Science and Technology Conduct On-Site Evaluation of Our School's First Batch of Major Science and Technology Projects

On December 12, 2024, experts organized by the Department of Science and Technology conducted an on-site evaluation of the first batch of major science and technology projects from our school's provincial science and technology innovation platform. The evaluation team included: Zhou Xiaohui, Senior Investigator from the Innovation Platform Division of Anhui Province's Department of Science and Technology; Hu Haiming and Yan Yanting from the Innovation Platform; and Chen Liang from the High-tech Development Center. The meeting was hosted by Xu Jun, Vice Dean of the Research Institute, with participation from Wang Hui, Vice Dean of the school, Professor Yang Xuezhi (Director of the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Industrial Safety and Emergency Technology and the major project lead), Professor Sun Xiao (Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Emotion Computing and Advanced Intelligent Machines), and Huang Jinyang (major project lead) among others.

During the meeting, Vice Dean Xu Jun delivered a welcome address and introduced the expert evaluation team. Zhou Xiaohui provided an overview of the project establishment and evaluation requirements. Huang Jinyang then presented the progress of the "Intelligent Analysis and Decision Support for Industrys Multi-Source Heterogeneous Data Based on Multimodal Large Models," including its current stage of achievements, challenges, and successful collaborations with multiple companies. Professor Yang Xuezhi gave a progress report on the "Micro-Vibration Visual Detection and Safety Evaluation Application System for Bridge Structures," showcasing significant achievements in addressing bridge safety issues.

The expert evaluation team, after listening to the presentations, reviewing materials, and conducting on-site inspections, expressed high recognition and appreciation for the projects' interim results. The experts emphasized their continued support for the projects' development and expressed optimism for the teams' future accomplishments.

The evaluation team also provided valuable suggestions for the further development of the two projects. They encouraged the teams to aim high, break through technical barriers, and achieve deep integration of industry, academia, and research. They also stressed the importance of transforming laboratory work into production line applications, resolving issues through timely interaction, and making scientific and rational use of project funds.

The successful completion of this evaluation meeting provided the project teams with valuable guidance and advice, injecting new energy into the future development of the projects.
