To further advance the integration of industry and education and help undergraduates gain deeper insights into cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and their applications, the Department of Intelligent Science and Technology invited Dr. Hu Jinshui, a researcher from iFlytek Research Institute, to deliver a unique course on machine vision to undergraduate students majoring in Intelligent Science and Technology at the Feicui Lake campus on December 6, 2024.
Dr. Hu’s lecture, titled "Computer Vision Technology in Intelligent Driving," provided a comprehensive yet accessible overview of key technologies and research advancements in the fields of smart cockpits and autonomous driving. The session covered topics such as fatigue detection, gesture recognition, health status estimation, gaze tracking, and identity recognition. Drawing on iFlytek's practical research cases in the autonomous driving sector, Dr. Hu systematically explained the application of multimodal sensor fusion, deep learning algorithms, and human-machine interaction in smart cockpits, while also addressing cutting-edge achievements and technical challenges.
Moreover, Dr. Hu delved into the challenges faced by intelligent driving systems in real-world applications, including the data long-tail issue in complex scenarios and the need for optimizing multi-source data processing efficiency. He also discussed potential future breakthroughs and innovative directions in the field.
At the end of the lecture, Professor Jia Wei, the department head, provided a summary of the content.
